An important conference will be held in this year’s International Year of the Potato. The conference in Dundee will address global opportunities challenges and solutions across the whole potato industry. PRI researchers Richard Visser and Anton Haverkort will also speak at the conference.
The event will follow the UK’s largest annual potato field event, Potatoes in Practice.
The global investment in the world’s fourth largest crop will be recognised by the presence at the conference of Chinese, Russian and Indian guest speakers.
Topics will include new possibilities in the use of scarce resources – particularly water; how climate change is likely to impact on potato crops; updates on pests and pathogens and on current breeding studies.
It will take place on Friday August 8 2008 at the Apex Hotel in Dundee. Speakers include:
