Plant Research International and Danisco have signed a license agreement whereby Danisco will receive rights to use Plant Research International technology for the development and production of a new flavour. The licensed technology is a product of Plant Research International's advanced platform in plant metabolomics. As part of this agreement, Danisco and Plant Research International will undertake a joint project to further evaluate and commercialise the technology.

Plant Research International is a part of Wageningen University and Research Centre in the Netherlands. Over the last 5 years Plant Research International has made large-scale investments in functional genomics technologies in line with its ambition to become a leader in the field of plant metabolomics.

Danisco is one of the world's largest producers of food ingredients. The company develops and produces food and feed ingredients, sweeteners and sugar. The agreement with Plant Research International is in line with Danisco's ambition to become one of the world's leading flavour and fragrance producers.
