For development and application of DArT, Plant Research International in Wageningen, the Netherlands, collaborates closely with DArT P/L in Canberra, Australia.
Plant Research International demonstrated, in close collaboration with DArT P/L, the reliability of DArT using Arabidopsis thaliana as model plant (Wittenberg et al., 2005). We also developed DNA markers based on DArT for marker-assisted selection in our apple breeding program. Together with DArT P/L we are also developing a high-density linkage map (~1000 markers) for the fungal pathogen Mycosphaerella graminicola.
