  • Title:
Use of the BNM3 transcriptional activator to control plant embryogenesis and regeneration processes
  • Publication number:
    WO0075330
  • Description:
The invention provides for a gene obtained during the induction of microspore embryogenesis. The protein encoded by this gene renders plant cells embryogenic, and increases the regenerative capacity of the plant cell. Also disclosed is the regulatory region of this gene and its use for directing the expression of a gene of interest within a suitable host cell.
The invention relates to asexual embryo formation and regeneration in plants. More specifically, it relates to processes for producing asexually-derived embryos, and for enhancing regeneration capacity in plants. The present invention also relates to heterologous protein production systems in plants, and the uses thereof.
