Biometris

How can you be sure that the research outcome is a natural law and not the result of coincidence? And how can you extract precisely the relevant data from a mountain of plant data? Or how do you interrelate biological processes? Mathematics and statistical analysis are essential tools in answering these questions.

The Business Unit Biometris is developing statistical and mathematical methods for quantification of biological processes and processes in our living environment. This is done at all levels, from gene to ecosystem and from product to production chain. This is how the scientists of Biometris are supporting scientists working in various research areas who themselves are insufficiently familiar with detailed mathematical and statistical techniques.

Biometris is focusing on the following expertise:

• Education at BSc, MSc and PhD/postdoc level
• Bioinformatics and statistical genetics
• Systems biology and systems ecology
• Modelling food intake and effects on health
• Image analysis
