Systems biology
The Netherlands urgently requires effect analyses into the culture of genetically modified crops.
Such analyses must be carried out without any dependence on one or more stakeholders. The studies must at the same time be carried in such a way that the results can be used in the discussion about the effects in the Dutch situation.
The available modern sustainable cropping techniques should serve as ‘control’ in such studies.
Against this background the initiators of AgroGen have formulated their own boundary conditions as follows:
the societal partners endorse targets and research questions
the studies are of high scientific quality and are independent
elaboration and execution of the research is open and transparent.
