Soil quality research is aimed at new technical systems for open cultures to achieve an optimal soil structure for crop growth and for natural soil processes. Subjects of research are:
- precision culture organic arable farming
- soil-friendly harvesting and minimum soil cultivation in a tramline cropping system
- guidelines for driving on arable soil.
Research into new technical systems for driving on, and cultivating soil in open cultures, focussing on soil quality and farm economic returns.
An excellent soil structure is a basic need for good crop growth and the natural balance in the soil. Plant Research International (PRI) develops and studies – together with partners in commercial farming and research - new concepts that enable innovation of agriculture and horticulture towards sustainable production systems.
The available specialist knowledge about required field operations, mechanization, soil mechanics and soil physics are perfect instruments to enable PRI to design new technical systems that are soil-friendly, environment-friendly, and efficient. This makes us an excellent partner for authorities as well as companies.
Plant Research International contributes to the development of a tramline system for organic farming. This system combines high machine capacity and a large number of ‘operational days’ with an optimum soil structure. The good structure ensures a vital crop, high crop yield, good product quality, and low emissions.
