Plant Protein Expression Centre

Hotel for functional proteomics

The Plant Protein Expression Centre (PEC) is a Netherlands Proteomics Centre (NPC) funded hotel that provides expertise, training and practical assistance to academic and industrial groups interested in identifying and characterizing protein-protein and protein-DNA interactions in plants. The PEC staff has extensive experience in both yeast-based and in planta technologies, including:

Protein-DNA interactions

  • Yeast 1 hybrid analysis (inset A)
  • Chromatin Immuno- and Chromatin Affinity Purification (ChIP, ChAP; inset C)

Protein-protein interactions

  • Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer (FRET)
  • Protein Complementation Assays (PCA)
  • Yeast 2 and 3-hybrid analyses (inset B)
  • Affinity purification of native protein complexes (inset D)

Collaborations
Collaborations between the PEC and academic and industrial partners are actively stimulated and supported by the NPC. These collaborations range from short-term personnel training to contract research to joint research projects of varying duration. Please contact the PEC Hotel Manager, Prof. Gerco Angenent, for more information on how your group can collaborate with the PEC.
