Research and education on plant cell and tissue culture both have a long history in the Netherlands.
Within Wageningen UR researchers and lecturers have joined forces and concentrated their activities in plant cell and tissue culture. This led to the formation of the Wageningen Tissue Culture Centre, WTCC.
