This research is focused on the molecular aspects and elucidation of regulatory networks underlying various developmental processes. Key regulatory molecules of interest are transcription factors, components of ligand-receptor based signal transduction pathways and molecules involved in cell growth.
We are particular interested in developmental processes related to reproductive organs, the gametes and the products of the reproduction process: seeds and fruits. For these studies we are using the model species Arabidopsis and tomato, but also other species (e.g. Brassica, pepper, petunia, rice) are being used as comparison or for specific applications.
